Chantel’s Vision for a Thriving Detroit

Our campaign is built on three key pillars that empower our neighborhoods, support our residents, and strengthen our community. This streamlined platform is our promise to build a more inclusive, prosperous, and engaged Detroit—one community at a time.

Economic Empowerment & Opportunity
  • Neighborhood Growth:
Downtown Detroit has flourished, yet many neighborhoods remain overlooked. Chantel will fight to secure support for local businesses and advocate for new opportunities—through initiatives like tax incentives, city grants, and community festivals—to help every neighborhood thrive.
  • Jobs & Technical Training:
Chantel is committed to advocating for investments in career technical training and job creation, ensuring that every Detroit resident can build the skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive economy.
Community Well-Being & Social Services
  • Housing & Homelessness:
Recognizing that homelessness affects not only those living on the streets but also individuals in unstable housing situations, Chantel will advocate for expanded housing support. Her goal is to help secure safe, clean, and permanent housing for everyone.
  • Access to Healthy Food:
While progress has been made, many Detroiters still face limited access to affordable groceries. Chantel will push for policies that promote farmer’s markets, co-ops, and the development of new grocery stores, ensuring that every resident can access nutritious food.
  • Safety & Mental Health:
Chantel understands that public safety goes beyond responding to crime—it includes prevention and community well-being. She will fight to support community programs, advocate for reallocation of resources toward crime prevention, and secure dedicated funding for mental health services and crisis intervention.
  • Education & Wrap-Around Services:
A strong future starts with a solid foundation. Chantel is committed to working with educators and community partners to enhance public education and expand wrap-around services that support children and families.
Civic Infrastructure & Engagement
  • Reliable Public Transit:
Detroit’s public transportation system is vital for our residents and the city’s economic growth. Chantel will advocate for reforms that create a safer, more dependable bus system—one that supports residents, workers, and visitors alike.
  • Modern Zoning:
Current zoning regulations have room for improvement. Chantel will fight to review and update these rules, advocating for balanced and sustainable development that respects the character of our neighborhoods.
  • Recreation & Civic Participation:
Believing that every voice matters, Chantel will support initiatives that create accessible recreational spaces for youth and young adults. Additionally, she will empower community organizers to foster civic engagement and ensure that every Detroiter has a say in shaping our future.
